The Short Version of a Long Story
hitlchat wasn't dreamed up in a boardroom. It was built to fix a problem we were living with.
- We ran an eCommerce store on Shopify with WhatsApp as the channel our customers actually used.
- We built a Botpress AI chatbot to handle the enquiry volume, and it worked, right up until a customer needed a human.
- There was no good way for a real person to step into the bot's WhatsApp conversation. We looked for the tool and it didn't exist the way we needed it.
- So we built it: a shared inbox where a live agent takes over from the bot mid-conversation without the customer being effected by the conversation transfer.
- Other bot builders kept asking to use it, so hitlchat eventually became a product. It then grew to support Voiceflow, webchat, WhatsApp broadcast campaigns, agencies, and here we are today..
